Current ordering status

A product may be ordered only after its supplier availability and selling price have passed VelaCart's checkout checks. Product safety records, supplier checks, traceability and recall procedures remain part of the seller's ongoing responsibilities.

Our product-safety standard

• Source goods from identifiable, reputable suppliers and retain purchase and batch records where relevant.
• Check that products intended for the UK market carry required labels, responsible-business details, instructions, warnings and traceability information.
• Inspect stock for damage, broken seals, contamination, expiry or best-before dates, and unsafe packaging before dispatch.
• Stop sale, investigate and cooperate with suppliers and authorities if a safety concern or recall arises.

Vitamins and food supplements

Follow the manufacturer's stated dose and do not exceed it. Food supplements are not medicines and must not be presented as preventing, treating or curing disease.

Ask a GP, pharmacist, midwife or other qualified professional before use if pregnant or breastfeeding, taking medication, managing a condition, preparing for surgery, buying for a child, or unsure whether ingredients are suitable. Keep supplements away from children unless the label specifically directs otherwise.

Medicines and medicated products

Medicines are not ordinary beauty products. VelaCart will not enable purchase of a medicinal product until the product's legal classification, the seller's eligibility, the supply route and all applicable MHRA or pharmacy requirements have been confirmed.

The ketoconazole treatment shampoo currently shown in the reference catalogue is marked unavailable while those checks remain outstanding. Customers should obtain medicine advice from a pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional and read the patient information leaflet.

Skincare, cosmetics and hair products

Read the full label, follow patch-test or allergy-alert-test instructions and avoid contact with eyes unless the product is designed for that area. Stop use and seek appropriate advice if irritation, swelling, breathing difficulty or another unexpected reaction occurs.

Active skincare ingredients may increase sensitivity or be unsuitable in some circumstances. Introduce new products cautiously and follow manufacturer guidance on frequency, sun protection and incompatible ingredients.

Cleaning and DIY products

Keep household chemicals, adhesives, tools and small parts away from children and pets. Use ventilation and protective equipment where the label requires it. Never mix cleaning products, decant them into food or drink containers, or remove safety labels.

Use tools only for their intended purpose, inspect them before use and follow age, electrical and installation warnings. Dispose of chemicals, batteries and packaging according to the label and local authority guidance.

Food, chocolate and storage

Check ingredients, allergen statements, storage conditions and date markings before eating. Store goods as instructed and do not consume products with damaged seals or signs of contamination.

Safety incidents and recalls

If a product may be unsafe, stop using it, keep the product and packaging, record the batch or lot number, and seek urgent medical help where needed. Emergency symptoms such as severe breathing difficulty require immediate emergency assistance.
